If you’re kicking around the idea of quitting—and you think its finally time to bite the bullet—you need to understand these things in order to make this quit successful.
One of the hardest parts of quitting is finding the fortitude to actually make the decision to quit smokeless tobacco. But, if your ready and you equip yourself with the tools that you need, it’s an easy one to make and follow through. I know that can seem like a crazy statement, but it is more true than you think. It is an easy decision to make because if you want it bad enough, you can make it happen. We are living proof of that here at TheQuit.org, and if we can do it so can you.
There are three things that you need to understand before you pull the trigger on this whole ‘quit’ thing. In our experience, understanding these three things makes the difference between a successful quit, and another failure. Because if your anything like the rest of us here, you have failed so many times that you probably feel like quitting is impossible. We are here to show you that it isn’t impossible, and if we can quit so can you.
This Has To Be For You
You have to understand that you need to make this decision for yourself. If you quit for someone else, there is a good chance that you will end up resenting the hell out of them during the hardest parts of your quit. Also, there aren’t enough nagging wives on the planet that can make you actually quit. All that nagging only pushes addicts into hiding, making it even harder for them to find their freedom from spit tobacco.
Only You Can Make The Decision
Only you can make this decision, and it needs to be about you and nobody else. This has to come from within. We have seen it over and over with nicotine addicts. People who aren’t all in and haven’t made the decision for themselves, ultimately fail. Those that make the decision on their own and for themselves, without being nagged into it, have a better success rate by far.
You Are An Addict
Yea, you read that right, you’re an addict. Don’t believe me? Websters defines addiction like this:
ad·dic·tion: compulsive need for and use of a habit-forming substance (as heroin, nicotine, or alcohol) characterized by tolerance and by well-defined physiological symptoms upon withdrawal; broadly : persistent compulsive use of a substance known by the user to be harmful.Â
You cant go without it, you know its killing you, but you still use it. Your an addict. Understanding this concept is fundamental in making this decision to quit. Once you understand that you are addicted to nicotine, you will be able to understand what is going on in your body when you quit. You will be able to research and learn about your addiction. And you will also be able to understand that there is never, for any reason, a good excuse to go back to the substance that you are dependent upon.
Once you come to terms that you must quit for yourself, no one else can make the decision for you and that you are an addict, its time to face this decision. If your ready, come check out our forum. We can help. Â Join us.
