Feel:
When you first crack the can open, Mint Snuff feels waxy and a bit hard. As you put your fingers into the can, it definitely feels a lot different than any other snuff you have ever used. But once you throw it in, you can hardly tell the difference from the real thing.
Burn:
The burn on these flavors is perfect. It is not enough to make you uncomfortable, but like real dip, you will shift it around after a few minutes. The cinnamon was the best burn, but I think that spearmint was really good as well. This does not feel exactly like dip burn because you aren’t poisoning yourself, but it is close enough to mimic that sensation pretty well.
Clean-up:
This product cleans up really well, especially in long-cut form. It has a real stickiness to it and it holds together really well in your mouth. I swallowed it a couple times and that was really easy. If you want to spit it out it stays together and I never had grinds left in my teeth. What keeps this from perfect are the pouches that fall apart when you bite them and fill your mouth with mint leaves.
Spitability:
The spit produced is moderate. It is a middle-of-the-road spit that is light brown to begin with, but doesn’t really fill that need. You feel more compelled to swallow the stuff. Your spitters will smell great though if you decide to use one. It is a good product, but something is missing in this category that I can’t put my finger on.
Flavor:
All of the flavors are exactly what they say they are on the package. This stuff is mint and not tobacco (obviously) so they don’t try to mimic dip. The wintergreens and mints are so minty that they are hard to even imagine as real dip. They are great breath fresheners and really awesome chews, but if you want realism then this is not for you.
Availability:
The availability here is just awesome. The website lists all of the distributors by state, city, military bases and even Canada. If you can’t find Mint snuff close enough o you to buy then you can request a store get it in and Mint Snuff will work to make it happen. If you want to order online you can do that as well. You should never find yourself deprived if you choose this product.
In Conclusion:
Great mint taste that really freshens your breath and comes in a nice variety of flavors. The packaging is awesome as well as the amount of product per can. The long-cut is moist and it doesn’t irritate your gums. The pouches fall apart and are not sweet enough, but work in a pinch. The most realistic thing about this product is the mouth feel and burn, but it ends there. The availability in incredible and the people of Mint Snuff are truly fantastic. They sent an awesome spread for this review and are really dedicated to helping people quit dip. They even sent literature along and are really great people to talk to and work with. A special thanks to Dave and Kim for great service and a great product!
